Future First helps schools and colleges harness the experiences and skills of their former students. This platform allows friends, family and alumni of our member schools to support their fundraising projects.
Our vision is that every school and college should be supported by a thriving, engaged alumni community. Our programme provides the infrastructure and expertise that make establishing these communities easy and inexpensive.
Future First has partnered with Hubbub to provide this crowdfunding platform. Here you will find the fundraising projects of some of our member schools and colleges. Whether it’s for new facilities, subsidies for extracurricular activities and trips, or much needed materials and equipment.
This platform bridges the gap between those that are asking and those who can help.
If you support a project, you will automatically receive updates about it. You can also interact directly with the team by leaving a comment on the project itself, or sending them a message.
If you are a potential supporter or a school/college interested in finding out how the platform can help you, please get in touch at firstname.lastname@example.org.
What is Crowdfunding?
Hubbub is a crowdfunding platform. Crowdfunding is sponsorship by a crowd of many donors, each making an individual, small donation in return for a small reward, like a t-shirt or a project poster. Hubbub provides a platform to showcase projects to a potentially huge audience, and gives sponsors an easy way to donate.
How can I create a project?
The first step is having a conversation with the Future First team about how you can get your fundraising projects posted. We will then provide log in details which you can use to access the platform and enter a few key details: a description of what you want to do, a funding target and completion date, and some potential rewards for pledges. Images and videos can also bring your project to life! If you’d like advice, tips and feedback then just ask your Alumni Officer.
Are there any fees?
We cover all operational costs, but there will be a small percentage taken from funds raised by your payment processor - 3-5% for PayPal or Stripe 2.4% + 20p for every donation made to successful projects.
Every project must achieve its minimum needed by its completion date or no funds change hands. Why? Part of the appeal of crowdfunding is that sponsors get to engage with projects and see where their money is going. This keeps everyone happy!
